Philippines
The latest version of the PPI for the Philippines was created in May 2018 by Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA). Indicators in this PPI are based on data from the 2015 Philippines Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES).
This Philippines PPI is based on IPA's new methodology, as are all PPIs released after July 2017. See our FAQs and full announcement, which describe the difference between our new PPIs and the older PPI versions, and answer other commonly asked questions about the transition to the new PPI methodology.
Since the 2009 and 2015 definitions of income and poverty used in the national surveys are consistent, we assume the 2009 and 2015 Philippines PPIs are comparable. Thus, in general, organizations may use the poverty estimates they already have from the previous 2009 PPI and those can be compared to the estimates from the new 2015 PPI. For more information, refer to the 2015 Philippines PPI User Guide (below) and this Guide to Transitioning to an Updated PPI (English, PDF, log-in required).
